A woman in her 80s was hit by a car just before 5 :30 tonight in the 1400 block of South 312th Street in Federal Way, according to police.

She was taken to Harborview Medical center with life-threatening injuries.

West South 312th Street is closed between Pacific Highway South and 14th Avenue South as crews investigate, and is expected to be shut down for three to five hours.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Officers do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved, Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.
