UPDATED: Power in Fife restored after two-vehicle collision

UPDATE as of 2:02 p.m.: All power has been restored, according to Fife city officials.

UPDATE as of 12 p.m.: Tacoma Power says power outages in Fife resulting from a two-vehicle collision will likely not be fixed before Thursday.

The collision has also caused road closures on 54th Avenue East from Pacific Highway to 8th Street East and on Willow Road to 59th Avenue East.

Officials are inspecting the building to see if it is safe.

UPDATE as of 11:27 a.m.: A woman and a 9-year-old girl were taken to the hospital after the crash, according to Fife police. Their injuries were not reported to be severe.

INITIAL POST: A collision involving a semi-truck and a vehicle has knocked power out to part of Fife and possibly injured children, police said.

The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. near 54th Street East and 12th Avenue.

Electricity along Pacific Highway East at 54th, 52nd and Willow are down. Crews are on their way.

The semi has pinned the vehicle against a building.
