Tacoma Fire crews responded just before 2 a.m. Friday to the 1600 block of Division Avenue to fight a first-floor apartment fire.
The fire was contained to one vacant unit that was under remodel, and the cause was spontaneous combustion of oily rags left in a metal can, according to Tacoma Fire.
No one was injured.
Occupants of nearby units were evacuated while crews worked.
The estimated damage is $75,000.
