A Kent couple has been convicted of trafficking teenage girls out of their home.

A jury found Bernard Watkins, 32, guilty last week on three counts of promoting commercial sex abuse of minors and a single count of unlawfully possessing a firearm.

His roommate, Altesa Turner, 44, pleaded guilty to helping facilitate prostitution and was sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Authorities said she helped post photographs and ads of the girls online.

Kent police began investigating them July 11 after a fight at a bus stop revealed prostitution and drug activity at their home. A SWAT team arrested them the following day.
