Auburn police have arrested three people suspected of participating in a fight Tuesday night that left a 39-year-old man dead and two others injured.

The fight began about 8:30 p.m. inside an apartment in the 2000 block of I Street Northeast in Auburn. The fracas spilled into a hallway outside the apartment where at least one gun and one knife were drawn, police said.

The 39-year-old man was shot to death. A 23-year-old man suffered gunshot and stab wounds, and a 30-year-old woman suffered a deep laceration to her arm, police said.

Several people fled the scene. Three since have been arrested, and detectives said they have seized a number of weapons.

Police are looking for other potential suspects and witnesses.
