Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 25-year-old Fife man with robbing a woman whom he met through an online dating service.
Isaiah Summers pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and second-degree theft in connection with Monday’s incident in the 1600 block of 74th Street Court East. He also faces firearm enhancements.
According to charging papers:
Summers, who appeared to be drunk, knocked on the victim’s door and asked to use the phone. The woman told him to wait in the hallway because she had three young children inside. Summers instead came into the house and refused to leave when asked, stating that he had nowhere else to go.
He pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim as he grabbed a 60 inch LG plasma flat screen television valued at $3,000. Summers then fled in a Cadillac.
Officers tracked him to a Fife home, where they ran into Summers as he walked out of the house. A deputy used a taser gunto take him into custody since Summers refused to follow orders to get on the ground.
The TV was found in the garage, along with a .22 caliber Sterling handgun.
