Amber alert issued for 3-year-old boy allegedly abducted by father in British Columbia

UPDATE: The alert has been called off. Child and father were found safe in Montana.

An Amber alert has been posted for 3-year-old Alvin Barnett, who according to the alert was abducted by his father Robert Barnett from Elk Valley, British Columbia this afternoon.

The Blue 2002 Subaru Outback the father is thought to be driving was seen crossing the border in Eureka, Mont. about 3:15 p.m., according to the alert.

The B.C. license plate is 347SBL.

Alvin is believed to be in imminent danger, according to the alert, and anyone who sees the pair is asked to call 911 and not approach them.

Alvin has brown hair and eyes, is 3 feet, 2 inches tall, and is thought to be wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

His father is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, has green eyes and reddish-blond hair, and some facial hair.

He has a scar above his right eyebrow.
