A man was arrested late Sunday after breaking into a Tacoma church, police said.
An alarm sounded just before 11 p.m. at the place of worship in the 2500 block of Tacoma Avenue South. When officers arrived, they spotted a man running from the building.
After taking him into custody, they discovered a back window had been broken out to gain entry to the church. Police also found footprints inside that they said matched the man who was arrested.
The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary. It was not immediately known what, if anything, he stole from the church.
