UPDATE as of 9:24 p.m. Crews were sent to the fire at 7:41 p.m. and have knocked it down. Investigators are about to start examining the scene. The occupant was examined for smoke inhalation, but refused treatment, according to fire chief Jerry Thorson. The home, a split level in unincorporated Pierce County near Bonney Lake, is probably a total loss, Thorson said.

“It appears it (the fire) was well involved before anyone called,” he added.

INITIAL POST: A house fire tonight in the 20500 block of 108th Street Court East in Bonney Lake injured one occupant and is still burning, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Crews arrived to find the blaze fully-involved.

They are treating the patient at the scene and have almost knocked down the exterior fire on the backside of the home, East Pierce said.

The extent of the occupant’s injuries is not immediately available.
