UPDATED: Bus hits pedestrian at Steele Street South and South 96th Street

UPDATE as of 10:23 p.m. The patient was hit by a Pierce Transit bus and was taken to a local hospital, according to Tacoma Fire. The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries was not immediately available, but a trauma team was activated.

INITIAL POST: Tacoma Fire and Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews are responding to Steele Street South and South 96th Street after receiving a report just after 9 p.m. that a bus hit a pedestrian, according to Tacoma Fire.

Officials are still evaluating the patient.

Further details were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
