An armed robber hit a small neighborhood store in the 3500 block of South Ainsworth Avenue late Friday night, making off with cash, tobacco products and two cases of beer.

According to Tacoma Police, patrol officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the store at 11:10 p.m.

The victim told officers a man carrying a “small-frame revolver” and wearing a bandanna over his face entered the store and demanded cash and tobacco products.

The suspect then ordered two other victims in the store at gunpoint to carry out two cases of beer to a waiting small, dark sedan.

The victim told police the robber got into the passenger side of the vehicle, which then drove off.
A police search of the the area revealed no sign of the vehicle.

Tacoma Police Lt. David O’Day said the description of the suspect and his MO were “uncannily similar” to a series of other robberies in the city over the past couple of days.
