Two men were arrested early this morning after Tacoma police allegedly caught them breaking into cars parked at an apartment complex.

Residents called 911 about 12:20 a.m. to report seeing the vehicle prowlers in the parking lot in the 5400 block of South 12th Street. The first officers to arrive spotted the men, ages 19 and 24, break into a car and took them into custody.

The pair is accused of trying to steal two cars – the ignitions had been tampered with – and breaking into four others. One of the men had stolen property on them, but the exact item wasn’t known.
