Tacoma police received a report of a drive-by shooting about 11:20 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of East 41st Street.

A man was driving with his girlfriend, when the couple noticed another car traveling close behind them.

The second car pulled up along the driver’s side of the couple’s vehicle and an unknown suspect in the approaching car fired multiple shots, according to police.

The man was hit in his side and taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries, police said. The suspect vehicle drove off, and officers did not make any arrests.

Police impounded the victim’s vehicle on a search warrant and were still investigating Sunday.
