UPDATE 9:40 A.M. Bonney Lake Police report that four suspects were booked into jail on suspicion of murder. “Shooting occurred during a drug deal that went bad,” the department tweeted.

EARLIER STORY: Bonney Lake police were called about 4 p.m. to the 19200 block of 75th Street East for a report of a possible shooting victim.

When officers arrived they found the body of a man in his early to mid-20s with apparent gunshot wounds in the garage of the residence, police said.

The death is being investigated as a homicide, Bonney Lake police spokesman Todd Green said.

Officers are questioning four people they believe are related to the scene, Green said. Two people were found outside the house when officers arrived, and another was found inside. It wasn’t immediately clear how the fourth person was related.

It’s difficult to tell how many gunshot wounds the man had, but it appeared to be more than one, Green said.

He said preliminarily it looks like the shooting could be related to a drug deal gone bad, but that it’s too soon to be sure.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
