Pierce County lifted its burn ban Monday afternoon due to the recent rains.

Officials said the ban does not apply to areas that are prohibited because of environmental or pollutions laws. Burning garbage, paper and other refuse is prohibited at all times.

More information can be obtained from the Fire Prevention Bureau at 253-798-7179.
