Accidents nearly double in Pierce, Thurston counties due to rain

The Washington State Patrol said the number of collisions in Pierce and Thurston counties have nearly doubled since the weather turned rainy.

From Friday to Sunday, troopers investigated 135 accidents. They were called to 70 crashes during the same time period the prior week.

The State Patrol reminds drivers to slow down and drive safe for conditions.
