A 47-year-old Eatonville woman who died Tuesday in a head-on collision on state Route 161 has been identified as Susan Adams.

The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. on SR 161 south of Jensen Road East.

The Washington State Patrol said an 87-year-old man driving a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south when he veered to the right, over-corrected and crossed into the northbound lanes, striking Adams’ 1996 Saturn SL2.

Adams was pronounced dead at the scene. The elderly driver was taken to a hospital with injuries.

Troopers are investigating what caused the man to lose control.
