A Tacoma man was arrested early this morning after trying to run his ex-girlfriend and another man off the road and firing several rounds into their car, police said.
The incident began about 12:30 a.m. when the man began following the couple in his vehicle and gesturing for them to pull over on McKinley Avenue.
When the woman and her new boyfriend kept driving, the man struck their car several time with his vehicle and fired multiple rounds from a semi-automatic handgun as they drove in the 3400 block of East L Street.
Nobody was hit and the man sped away.
Officers later found the man at a home in the 500 block of Wright Avenue. He initially refused to come outside but eventually surrendered after police used the public address system to coax him out.
The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault and first-degree domestic violence assault.
