No criminal charges will be filed against Pacific Mayor Cy Sun after an investigation into allegations that he destroyed public records, assaulted employees and intimidated a public servant, King County Sheriff Steve Strachan said today.

The Pacific City Council President, Leanne Guier, asked the sheriff’s office July 18 to investigate the allegations, as well as allegations of misconduct by members of the city’s police force.

“The investigation was forwarded to the prosecutors, they reviewed it, and there is not evidence for criminal charges to be filed,” Strachan said about both investigations.

The sheriff’s office investigated the allegations against Sun, and asked the Washington State Patrol to investigate the alleged police misconduct.
