Firefighters are working on a brush fire that has spread to 5 acres on the Key Peninsula, according to the Key Peninsula Fire Department.
The blaze is still moving near the 18000 block of 144th Street Kp N, Chief Tom Lique said.
Crews are still assessing whether the fire is threatening homes, but Lique said it’s still moving and hasn’t yet been contained.
“It doesn’t look like there are any homes that are in immediate threat,” he said. “We believe we’re going to get in front of it before anything major happens.”
Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One has personal on scene, and a Pierce County strike team has been called, Lique said.
