A truck driver who died last week after he tipped his vehicle and it was engulfed in flames has been identified as a 60-year-old Pacific man.

Roger Atkins was traveling west on state Route 18 near Tiger Mountain Summit Friday morning when he left the roadway and tipped his 2007 truck tractor on its right side about 20 feet off the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision sparked a fire, which consumed the truck tractor and 2008 Hyundai trailer Atkins was pulling. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
