Two injured in shooting in Parkland parking lot

Two people were shot and injured early this morning in a drive-by shooting in a restaurant parking lot in Parkland, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the Denny’s parking lot, 10802 Pacific Ave. S.

Witnesses said a car pulled up and someone opened fire at two people standing outside. The car then sped off.

One victim was shot in the leg; the other was shot in the torso. Their conditions were not immediately available.
