A Tacoma man tied up his 69-year-old housemate and hit him over the head with a sledgehammer before robbing him Thursday, police said.

A third housemate came home about 6:30 p.m. and found the victim bloodied and bound with duct tape. The 32-year-old suspect fled the home in the 6400 block of M Street in the victim’s car after stealing his car keys, cash and credit cards.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said officers know who the suspect is but have not yet located him.
