Woman gets 18 years for role in Lakewood murder

A 20-year-old woman who helped her boyfriend rob and kill a man in Lakewood last year was sentenced today to 18 years, nine months in prison.

Bethany Ann Tesfaye pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of second-degree murder in the March 31 shooting death of Elias Lopez Lopez, 25.

Pierce County prosecutors said Tesfaye made plans to meet Lopez Lopez, with whom she was acquainted, at Wards Lake Park. Daniels allegedly was hiding in the bushes and attacked Lopez Lopez when he and Tesfaye arrived.

Daniels is charged with shooting Lopez Lopez then taking items from his pockets. He’s to go to trial next month.
