A Federal Way nurse who sexually assaulted a patient has turned over his nursing license and may never again hold a health care credential in the state, according to the Department of Health.

Konstantin Kurkov, 22, pleaded guilty in May to second-degree assault in King County Superior Court and agreed to surrender his license as part of the plea agreement.

The assault took place last April at St. Francis Hospital, where he was hired in 2008.

Kurkov examined a female patient for back pain without orders from a doctor and inappropriately touched her. The woman complained to the hospital and police.

The victim was the third in several months to complain Kurkov touched her inappropriately, but he was not charged in the first two cases.
