A 23-year-old man who died Tuesday in an industrial accident in Graham has been identified as Ryan Veysey.

Veysey was a subcontractor from Vancouver doing a job at a gravel pit in the 19100 block of Canyon Road when a scissor lift pinned him against a railing for several minutes.

After being freed, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Veysey bled to death due to a crushing injury to his chest and abdomen, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies and the state Department of Labor and Industries are investigating.
