A 37-year-old Puyallup man narrowly avoided injury this morning after a trailer hitch smashed through his windshield.
The accident occurred about 7:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill said a hitch was lying in the roadway when a car in front of the Puyallup man kicked it up and it sailed through the dump truck’s windshield.
The man suffered minor scrapes.
