A 29-year-old man was charged this week with a 2009 armed robbery after a prisoner looking for a plea deal told authorities they held up a Tacoma restaurant.
Jamal Henry has not yet been arraigned on the first-degree robbery charge because he is in jail on unrelated charges.
The robbery occurred Nov. 27, 2009, at the Old Milwaukee Café, 3102 6th Ave. Two men walked into the restaurant and demanded money. One stood guard by the guard while the other emptied the cash register and shoved the female owned out of the way when she tried to stop him.
Prosecutors said Henry was the man who took $190 and credit card receipts from the till.
Detectives did not solve the crime until August, when Joseph Adams approached them with information on the robbery hoping for a plea deal. Adams claimed to be the man standing by the door during the holdup, carrying a gun.
Both men are reportedly Hilltop Crip gang members.
