A service will be held Wednesday for a 29-year-old man who disappeared July 8 while inner tubing in the Puyallup River.

Josh McNamara’s friends and family will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church For All Nations, 111 – 112th Street East , Tacoma. The public is invited.

McNamara floated away on the river in Orting. Two fishermen found his body Aug. 19 about 11 miles from where he was last seen.

The Buckley man worked at RS Construction & Excavation Inc., enjoyed camping and riding ATVs and was known as a fun-loving family man who doted on his 2-year-old daughter.

  1. / seen this on curious and unusual deaths and buckley in this story, drowned differently.

  2. Get-A-Clue says:

    Regardless of how they died, may they both rest in peace, remember, they were someone one’s loved one, and it is not as if anyone gets to choose the manner of their death (unless it is suicide), so you never know, you or someone you love may die in an even more strange and unusual way…so, show some respect for the dead and departed, along with their friends, family and loved ones!

    RE:The other comment’s post, Marc’s Comments;
    1) This gentleman and father (Josh McNamara) has nothing to do with the “Tom Buckley Lewis” Angler Story on, “Strange and Unusual Deaths” on NetFlix! Josh passed away from drowning while on an inner tubing trip. Death and drowning during inner tubing trips happens a lot (I hear of similar drownings every year in Louisiana. Never tie yourself to anything!, the tube or ice chest or anything (not saying josh did), but that is commonly a reason why people drown while inner tubing, as they get hung up and tangled up between tube, rocks, stumps, ice chests, etc. Please be Careful!

    2) The Death of the Angler who was drowned by high tide and his pick up truck, was John Raymond Wilson, 37, and his story is at the article link below.
