A neighbor out for a walk just before lunch discovered a dead body Saturday.

The victim is a white male who was dressed in black with a red bandana, was tied up and had been beaten, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The dead man appears to be in his 40s, and he had no identification.

He was found around 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the 22100 block of 124th Avenue East. Troyer said he wasn’t killed there, but dumped there.

The body was discovered outside a brand new, large home that is vacant and for sale, Troyer said, though detectives don’t believe the house is related to the crime other than to indicate that whoever dumped the man’s body left a main road to do it.

Detectives are working to identify the victim, whose body is now at the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy. Anyone with information on the victim or the crime should call the police.
