Three masked men held up a U.S. Bank branch in Lakewood this morning.

The takeover robbery occurred about 9:25 a.m. at the bank, 9310 Bridgeport Way. The robbers wore masks and carried weapons.

Three robbers enter the US Bank in Lakewood on Thursday morning.

The men jumped over the counter, forced employees and customers to the ground and demanded money. Witnesses reported seeing them flee in a blue Buick, which officers found abandoned near the bank with its doors wide open.

“We know it’s the right car,” police Lt. Chris Lawler said.

The car is being processed for evidence and police are obtaining surveillance footage from the bank cameras.

No one was injured during the robbery.

I go to that bank sometimes. It’s the slowest bank on the planet. Were they really robbers or men who were trying to break out of the bizarre time warp in that bank branch?
