Detectives are looking for a suspect in two armed robberies of Puyallup-area pharmacies that happened this summer.

The man, in his 20s, allegedly climbed over the counter of the pharmacies, forced the employees to the floor at gunpoint and demanded prescription painkillers, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers. He put the medicine in a large bag and ran out the fire exits in both robberies, Crime Stoppers said.

The first robbery happened at 7:55 p.m. June 28 at the Walgreens in the 14300 block of Meridian Avenue East, and the second was 9:50 a.m. Aug. 17 at a Walgreens in the 11500 block of Canyon Road East.

The suspect was seen leaving the first robbery in a small silver SUV, Crime Stoppers said.

Anyone with information is asked to call (253) 591-5959.   Callers will remain anonymous, and can receive up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest and charges filed.
