Tacoma police responded to two drive-by shootings Saturday night, but they said the two didn’t seem to be related.

Officers were called about 9:45 p.m. to the 4200 block of East Q Street for reported sounds of a vehicle speeding away and several gunshots being fired.

A 14-year-old sitting inside another vehicle suffered a non-life-threatening injury from a bullet that grazed the back of his head, police said.

Officers booked a 16-year-old suspect into Remann Hall in connection with the shooting, police said.

Later police were called at 11: 36 p.m. to the 400 block of Harrison Street for similar reports.

There was property damage,  but no injuries in that shooting, police said.

They were still looking for the suspect.

  1. By any chance was this Saturday night, not Friday? I’ve been trying to figure out what happened, and this seems to fit the description. Last night I was driving home from somewhere, and we saw at least 7 police cars zooming down Portland Ave, headed for the Salishan area.

After checking again with the police department, yes, these did happen Saturday. Thank you for asking. Nice catch!
