A Tacoma man who fled on a Moped after breaking his wife’s arm and kicking her several times in the head is in Pierce County Jail, charged with first-degree assault.

According to Tacoma Police, officers were called late Friday night to a domestic violence scene in the 3600 block of South D Street. The victim, suffering from a broken arm and head trauma, told officers the man was on a Moped, probably heading for his father’s house on Thompson Avenue.

When police located the man, he jumped off his bike and ran on foot. Officers closed off the area and called in a canine officer and dog. The dog tracked the man to his hiding spot. Police say the man suffered minor bites to his arm and leg after refusing to come out when ordered to do so.
