Authorities arrested multiple people this afternoon as part of an investigation into a number of home invasion robberies that began in December and appeared to target Asian families, Tacoma police said.

Detectives and SWAT teams from Tacoma and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department served search warrants on four places, police said.

Those warrants were related to the investigation, as well as other drug-related and weapon-related crimes, police said.

All arrested suspects have local gang ties, police said.

They are all Asian, and appeared to target Asian families known to have valuables in their homes, police said.

Authorities expect to make more arrests in the investigation.

Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
