A vigil is scheduled tonight to honor Ty Barnes, 23, who died in a motorcycle crash Monday.
Barnes was a senior airman at Joint Base Lewis-McChord with the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 5000 block of Reid Drive Northwest, where the vigil is scheduled for 9 p.m. tonight.
Barnes joined the Air Force in March of 2008, and was assigned to JBLM in April 2012.
Ryan Peart, who lives near where the accident happened, said family and friends have been leaving flowers and flags as a memorial at the site. He said they have been spreading the word about the vigil.
