Firefighters were called at 3:11 a.m. to a house fire in the 5200 block of Mason Avenue this morning, according to Tacoma Fire Battalion Chief Ray Manglona.

A family of three has been displaced by the fire, he said, and one person is being evaluated by medics and may need to be taken to the hospital.

Crews have knocked down the fire, which went through the building’s exterior, and are now concerned about the house’s structural stability, Manglona said.

Investigators at the scene are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
