East Pierce Fire & Rescue will be raising money today in Bonney Lake for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters will be standing at the intersection of 200th Ave E and S. Prairie Rd E until 5:30 p.m. to collect donations from passersby.

The money will be used to help local families suffering from muscular dystrophy.

Another example of how the Fire depts waste our money. They drive an engine truck (that gets about 6 inches to the gallon) to the grocery store and now cause a traffic hazard by begging for money in the middle of an intersection. Get your butts out of the road and go do your jobs.

So who are you going to call when your house is on fire or a family member is having a heart attack. And I bet you’ll be the first in line with your hand out when you or a family member is stricken with MS or any other disease.

I have no problem with them raising money. I don’t like the standing at the intersection thing.’Fill the Boot’ is ridiculous. A few weeks ago I saw some young boys standing at 72nd and Mckinley with football helmets going car to car. Didn’t see an adult anywhere. I guess the fire department taught them well.

First of all this is the UNION doing this fine bit of service. Second, they are DONATING their time. This is not on the departments time, money, nor resources. You people are ABSOLOUTELY AWFUL! It’s for a good cause and firefighter’s all across the nation do this. Get over and SHUTUP!
