Temperatures are going to skyrocket in Western Washington this week, and forecasters say the heat spell will likely last a day or so longer than last month’s warmest weekend.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement this morning warning of the incoming heat, which is expected to peak from Wednesday to Friday.

Today’s high is 78 degrees. Although clouds are expected Wednesday morning, they will clear by mid-morning and temperatures will rise to 86.

Thursday and Friday will be the hottest days, at 93 and 94 respectively.

It will drop back into the low 80s on Saturday and then into the low 70s by Sunday.
