A multi-acre brush fire is burning near Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.
The blaze was reported about 1:20 p.m. and has consumed several acres, Assistant Chief Randy Stephens said.
Nine crews and an aircraft spotter are working to contain the fire.
