A bicyclist was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries this afternoon after a collision with a vehicle at North 26th Street and North Vassault Street, Tacoma fire Battalion Chief Jim Zuluaga said.

Officials were called to the scene about 3 p.m.

Witnesses said the bicyclist appeared to veer into the car while both were driving on North 26th Street, and Tacoma police are investigating the accident, Zuluaga said.

  1. I can’t stand bicyclists, they get there own bike lane and they still ride on the lane as close to you as possible. They want the same rules as cars, trucks and so on but they don’t follow the rules. I had one the other day who didn’t stop at a stop sign and I almost hit one. I think they should get tickets just like the other drivers.
