A Fox Island man will be arraigned this afternoon on charges that he struck a Gig Harbor woman on a bicycle and fled the scene.

Gregory McCormak Andrews is set to enter a plea for vehicular assault and failure to remain at the scene of an injury accident.

Pierce County prosecutors contend he hit the bicyclist July 12 near 42nd Street Court Northwest and Ray Nash Drive Northwest in Gig Harbor.

She suffered a concussion. Two weeks after the accident, her husband drove around the area looking for the vehicle that hit his wife. He found Andrews’ car and took pictures of damage to the side mirror, then reported it to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies questioned Andrews, who said he didn’t remember hitting anyone but asked deputies to apologize to the bicyclist if he did, court papers show.
