Prank leads Clover Park Technical College to notify students of possible armed man on campus

What turned out to be a prank  led Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood to send alerts to its campus today about a possible armed man at the school, spokeswoman Amy Goings said.

The college contacted Lakewood Police after a woman called the school about 3 p.m. to report that she had been assaulted by someone on the campus who had a gun, Goings said.

Alerts sent included a description of the supposed attacker, and a friend told him that campus security was looking for him, Goings said.

The man reported then went to the Lakewood Police Department and told officers that the entire situation was a hoax someone was playing on him, which police verified to be true, Goings said.

“Unfortunately, it was a very mean prank,” Goings said. “Fortunately no one was hurt, but unfortunately (the prank) was very upsetting to the student who was accused of being an assault suspect.”

The school never went into lockdown, and students were told it was a prank about 4:30 p.m., she said.

Seriously people, you are in college, grow the f**k up.

  4. if they figure out who it was they might make em pay for the cost of the police and security reponse… then triple it . The money could go to a fund to help students in need .
