UPDATE 3:55 p.m.: Deputies found the man hiding in a vacant chicken coop in the 4900 block of 96th Street East, said spokesman Ed Troyer. A K-9 was sent in to get him, and medical aid is on the way to check the suspect before he is booked on multiple charges, Troyer said. A citizen contacted authorities when he noticed his coop was forced open, Troyer added.

INITIAL POST: Authorities have surrounded a wooded area in Summit and are searching for wanted felon who is believed to be armed, according to Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer.

The 36-year-old man, who has multiple warrants for his arrest, fled into the woods near Vickery Avenue East and 96th Street East just before 2 p.m.

A K-9 unit is being brought in to track the felon. A Washington State Patrol plane is also joining the search.

The man is a known car thief, has nine felony convictions and escaped from community custody, Troyer said.

Deputies tried to stop him this afternoon but he fled into the nearby woods.

i’ll keep my eye posted for the update and see if the dog got fed, or if the K-9 needs to stop for some Alpo at the Safeway.

    1. What happened to 3 strikes you’re out?
    2. My condolences to the poor chickens.
    3. Someone check the dog for food poisoning.

  7. Please remember he has a family who love him and don’t condone his actions don’t pour salt into the wounds

  8. surveyor1 says:

@nreed – Part of the problem with our society today is that families and people who love these repeat felons have thier heads suck in the sand. “Oh, he’s really a great guy, but he’s just down on his luck now”. Or, “He’s turning his life around”. Give me a break. The families need to hear what the public thinks about their darling little repeat felons. This scumbag needs to be put in prison for the REST OF HIS LIFE.

  9. we dont have our heads in the sand you JERK we dont help him with his illegal activites just because one of your family members is a convicted felon doesnt mean the family is not law abiding citizins and for more he created his own situation i never said he was down on his luck as a matter of fact we have called the police on him ourselves that doesnt make it hurt any less

  10. surveyor1 says:

So because you don’t like my opinion, I am a jerk? The fact of the matter is your friend/family member appears to have made his way though life victimizing innocent people, so as a victim of multiple burglaries throughout my life, I’m sorry If I don’t feel your pain. If your looking for sympathy, you are probably looking in the wrong place, JERK.

  11. billperron says:

Calling someone a jerk just because they speak the truth is kind of a jerky thing to do.

  12. rawdibob says:

Hey, is there anyway we can contract for jail space in Louisiana? I heard of one guy who plead guilty to murder to avoid serving time in Louisiana.

  13. rawdibob says:

Don’t you wish, serving jail time in Washington was a deterrent to criminal behavior?

  14. salodave66 says:

I just wonder what he looks like in orange instead of that swaztica shirt he wore everyday??? I dont know could he be racest
