Fife police are looking for information about an abandoned safe found about 8:30 a.m. today by the Puyallup River.

It was empty, had been pried open, and the serial number had been removed, police said.

They believe it may have been taken as part of a burglary or robbery, and have lifted prints from it.

It is a “Fire Fyter” brand safe, and the model is FF3095, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fife Police Department at 253-922-6633.

Police say the safe is similar to the one pictured below.
