Tacoma police are searching for a suspected drunken driver who crashed his motorcycle Thursday night and fled the scene, leaving behind his critically injured passenger.

The crash occurred about 9 p.m. in the 1900 block of Marine View Drive NE. The driver wiped out on his bike and his 22-year-old female passenger was thrown into the bushes.

“The guy got back on the motorcycle and took off,” police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

The woman was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol and speed contributed to the collision.

Officers have asked hospitals to be on the lookout for men who arrive with injuries that could have been sustained in a motorcycle crash. They also have the name of a possible suspect and are looking for him.

Real men don’t leave their friends to die after an accident..

  4. What a jerk. I hope the lady recovers. If she’s his wife or girl friend I hope she dumps him.

Deepest condolences to this young woman’s family. I am praying she pulls through. Shame on this man. I hope the authorities find him.

  6. What a jerk! And even though I don’t know the whole story…it sounds like she isn’t the brightest bulb for getting on the back of a motorcycle driven by someone who had been drinking.
    Hope she recovers.

I would hope the 22 year old woman would have a clue who this guy is. Maybe he was so drunk he didn’t know he had a passenger. Wow.

My daughter knows the woman who was injured. She is in very bad shape. The guy was her boyfriend and they will find him. Sad in so many ways. Hope she recovers while he pays for what he has done. He obviously fled as he was drunk but who leaves your girlfriend for dead…………….
