UPDATE 6:20 p.m.: Gould was found in South Seattle and relatives are taking her home.

Renton police are looking for missing 82-year-old Diana Gould.

She left her apartment this morning or early afternoon in the 900 block of Harrington Avenue Northeast, police said.

Her family is worried, because she recently moved to the area and is not familiar with it, police added.

Gould is five-feet, six-inches tall, about 165 pounds, and has short blonde hair, police said.

Anyone who has seen Gould or who has information about where she may be is asked to call 911 or the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500.

Question? Why cant we activate the Amber Alert system for endangered elderly people like Diana Gould. She could possibly be found if the alert went out (and maybe we rename it) before dark as many of these seniors get disoriented after dark ending up slipping down a bank or wandering into a wooded area.

It wouldnt be expensive to issue the alerts nor to place qualifications as to when the alert is activated
