Morning fog delays flights at Sea-Tac

Rain, lightning, heat and now – fog. This summer’s weather has certainly varied.

A thick blanket of fog invaded South Sound this morning, delaying some flights at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and injecting a chill into an otherwise warm week.

Forecasters said the fog will burn off by 11 a.m. and the sun will gradually come out. Today’s high is 78 degrees.

Although the fog will make its exit, clouds and sun are expected to do battle through the weekend. The forecast bounces between partly sunny and partly cloudy, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will remain in the low 70s.

This morning’s fog has meant up to 45 minute delays for several flights at Sea-Tac. You can check flight status at http://www.portseattle.org/Sea-Tac/Flights-Airlines/Pages/default.aspx.
