Police said a 32-year-old man was shot in the back late Tuesday while walking in Tacoma.

A woman drove him to Tacoma General Hospital, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The victim was evasive, refusing to provide his name, the identity of the woman who brought him to the hospital or the exact location where the shooting occurred.

Police later discovered his name and that he has an active warrant for narcotics out of Mississippi. Officers scoured the area for a crime scene and determined that the shooting likely happened in the 3500 block of S. Orchard Street.
