A suspected drunken driver plowed through a Fife apartment early Monday and narrowly missed a woman who was sleeping inside, police said.

The incident occurred about 5:30 a.m. at The Lakes apartment complex. A woman woke up when the car crashed through her bedroom wall and came within inches of her bed before speeding away.

Responding officers found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away with serious damage. While investigating the car, the vehicle’s owner approached police and claimed his car had been stolen.

Police said he was highly intoxicated. The man was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, hit-and-run and false reporting.

Imagine waking up with a car destroying your bedroom?

In charging him with ‘hit & run,’he had to be driving at some point, as there was no one near to be the ‘thief’ except himself. His car is likely totaled and with so much destroyed, the $$$ signs going up!
